Setting Up and Using the FollowMe Printers (which are replacing the FollowYou Printers)

We have rolled out a new system in Flanagan that will also be implemented in Warwick where we are replacing the old FollowYou Printing system with a new one called FollowMe.

After this is set up once you print a file to these MFD printers you can go to any FollowMe MFD Printer on the campus and print your file, allowing more freedom and flexibility about where you print your files.

To set this up, first we must go to our Windows 10 "Printers & Scanners" settings window.

1. Type in "Printers & Scanners" in the Windows 10 search bar as shown below and go to the relevant (highlighted) settings page.

2. After we click on this and open this settings page Select the + symbol to "Add a Printer or Scanner" as shown below.

3. After you select this the computer will scan for available printers. It will not find the one we are looking for however, we will need to add in manually. You Might see a "FollowYou" option, that is not what we are looking for. We are looking for "FollowMe"

After the scan is complete a link will appear at the bottom of the list that says "The printer that I want isn't listed" as shown below.

4. Once you select that it should open up this window as shown below. As shown below select the box that says "Select a shared printer by name" and manually enter this code. You can copy and paste this inside the quotation marks. "\\vwppcprintsrv01\FollowMe"

Then select Next, the computer should then access the servers and find and connect to the printer.

How to Use the Printer:

After you have set this up you will now see the "FollowMe" printer as an available printer option whenever you are printing. Make sure it is selected and then print your pages.

Now you can go to any FollowMe MFD printer. There should now be a badge reader on the right side of the printer. Simply scan your badge to get to the next step.

If you don't have an updated chip badge:

Activate the touch screen and you will be asked to enter your CCRI credentials via the keyboard that will show up on the touch pad on the printer.

Enter your CCRI username and password, same as if you were logging onto a computer or accessing your email.

Releasing the Files:

After you log in through the touchpad or just by scanning your badge you will see that your files are there being held waiting for release.

Select "Release Files." a window will pop up saying that you owe money. If you are a CCRI employee disregard this warning, as you will not actually owe any money to use the printer. This is a bug that we are working on fixing.

Just select "Release Files" and then "Print Files" and the files should start printing immediately.
