Come February 1, 2027, all currently registered MFA users who opted to use SMS/Call authentication will need to enroll themselves in Passkey verification. To sign in to a CCRI system using the Passkey verification route, follow the steps below.
You must be on iOS version 17 or later or Android 14 or later in order to sign in with a passkey in Authenticator.
Same-Device Authentication: browser route (iOS)
When attempting to access a CCRI system from the browser on your device in which Microsoft Authenticator is enrolled, folow these steps:
1. Open your browser and go to the login page. Enter in your CCRI email, then your password.
2. You will be prompted by a screen that says Face, fingerprint, PIN, or security key. If not, select Sign-in options, then select the previously mentioned menu item.
3. On-screen dialogue will populate. Follow the operating system instructions; you will need to verify yourself via Face ID or Touch ID, or by entering your PIN.
You're now signed in to CCRI.
Cross-Device Authentication (iOS)
You will need the device that you are attempting to sign into CCRI on and the device that has your Microsoft Authenticator passkey method.
1. Head to the CCRI system that you want to log in to. Enter in your CCRI email address and password.
2. You will be prompted to sign in with a passkey. If not, select Other ways to sign in, then select Face, fingerprint, PIN or security key.
3. To begin cross-device authentication, follow the steps listed on the device you are trying to sign into. If signing into an up-to-date Windows device, select iPhone, iPad, or Android device in the pop-up dialogue.
4. Open your iOS device's camera app and scan the QR code. The Authenticator app does not support scanning this QR code.
5. Select Sign in with passkey when the option appears.
6. To select your passkey, follow the steps in the iOS operating system dialogue. You need to verify with biometrics or your unlock PIN.
You're now signed in to CCRI.
Same-Device Authentication: browser route (Android)
When attempting to access a CCRI system from the browser on your device in which Microsoft Authenticator is enrolled, folow these steps:
* Note: As of July 22, 2026, Same-Device authentication is not yet implemented for Microsoft Edge on Android.
1. On your android device, go to the CCRI system that you want to access and attempt to sign in. Enter in your CCRI email address, your password, then go to the next screen.
2. You will be prompted by a screen that says Face, fingerprint, PIN, or security key. If not, select Sign-in options, then select the previously mentioned menu item.
3. Follow the steps in the Android operating system dialogue; verify yourself with your PIN, gesture, or biometrics. If you have multiple passkeys on your device, select the one for your CCRI account.
You're now signed in to CCRI.
Cross-Device Authentication (Android)
You will need the device that you are attempting to sign into CCRI on and the device that has your Microsoft Authenticator passkey method.
1. Head to the CCRI system that you want to log in to. Enter in your CCRI email address and password.
2. You will be prompted to sign in with a passkey. If not, select Other ways to sign in, then select Face, fingerprint, PIN or security key.
3. To begin cross-device authentication, follow the steps listed on the device you are trying to sign into. If signing into an up-to-date Windows device, select iPhone, iPad, or Android device in the pop-up dialogue.
4. Open your Android device's camera app and scan the QR code. You can also choose to use the Authenticator app; when in the app, select the QR code button in the bottom right. If this isn't visible, click your account, then select Passkey, then click the QR icon in the bottom right.
5. To select your passkey, follow the steps in the Android operating system dialogue. You need to verify with biometrics, your unlock PIN, or your unlock gesture.
You're now signed in to CCRI.
