Come February 1, 2027, all currently registered MFA users who opted to use SMS/Call authentication will need to enroll themselves in Passkey verification. To sign in to a CCRI system using the Passkey verification route when you have multiple passkeys, follow the steps below.
You must be on iOS version 17 or later or Android 14 or later in order to sign in with a passkey in Authenticator.

Same-Device authentication (iOS)
You will need the device that you are attempting to sign into CCRI on and the device that has your Microsoft Authenticator passkey method.
1. On a browser, head to the CCRI system that you want to log in to.
2. You will be met with a system dialogue asking to enter in a password. If you see the correct account such as in the example below, continue onward with the sign in. This should sign you in automatically using your passkey method.
3. If this is not the right account, such as needing to access a system in the staff tenant, then click the white X button in the top right of the dialogue. Above the keyboard, click the gray key to open up your Microsoft passkeys and passwords. It will open a dialogue that looks like the screen below.
4. Pick the corresponding account from the list below.
- Ensure that you are selecting the first options; they are sorted with passkeys first then passwords next. If your method is not listed here, click Authenticator, then select the corresponding account with the passkey.
You should be signed into the CCRI system you were trying to access successfully.
Same-Device authentication (Android)
You will need the device that you are attempting to sign into CCRI on and the device that has your Microsoft Authenticator passkey method.
1. Head to the CCRI system that you want to log in to. Enter in your CCRI email address and password.
2. You will be prompted to sign in with a passkey. If not, select Other ways to sign in, then select Face, fingerprint, PIN or security key
3. To begin cross-device authentication, follow the steps listed on the device you are trying to sign into. If signing into an up-to-date Windows device, select iPhone, iPad, or Android device in the pop-up dialogue.
4. Open your Android device's camera app and scan the QR code. You can also choose to use the Authenticator app; when in the app, select the QR code button in the bottom right. If this isn't visible, click your account, then select Passkey, then click the QR icon in the bottom right.
- If you have multiple CCRI accounts, such as if you are both student and staff where you have both an @my.ccri.edu AND @ccri.edu account, select the menu option corresponding to the correct account. Selecting the wrong one will fail the sign-in challenge.
You should be signed into the CCRI system you were trying to access successfully.
