Can't log into Windows on a classroom PC

Summary

Here are the steps of what to do when you can't log into the computer in the classroom. Make sure to always contact Help Desk as the issue could be larger than a simple restart.

Body

Description: I can’t log into Windows on a classroom PC.

Solution depends on the following errors:

  • “There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request.”
    • Try again immediately.
    • Try again after a minute.
    • Click on the power menu in the lower corner, then click “Shut down.”  After the PC completely turns off, wait several seconds, then press the power button to start it.  Once the login screen appears, try logging in again.
  •  “The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed;
    • Contact Help Desk (see below). There might be an issue with our system.
  • “Your account is configured to prevent you from using this PC.  Please try another PC.”
    • Contact Help Desk. There is an issue with the computer configuration.
