Installing the Cloudflare One Client (VPN)
This article walks CCRI faculty and staff through installing the Cloudflare One Client — the VPN that replaces FortiClient — on a CCRI laptop and signing in with their CCRI account.
What Changed
The FortiClient VPN is no longer supported. CCRI now uses the Cloudflare One Client for VPN and off-campus access.
Important: You must be on campus (connected to the CCRI network) to complete the installation. If you are unable to come to campus to install it, call the IT Help Desk and they will help you with next steps.
Installing the Cloudflare One Client
- Click Start, type Software Center, and open the Software Center app from Best match.

- Select Applications in the left menu, then choose the Cloudflare One Client tile.

- Click the green Install button and wait for the status to change to Installed.

- Open the Cloudflare One client. Your browser may open automatically to the CCRI sign-in page — if it does, continue to the next step. If it doesn’t, the client will show Disconnected; click Connect to open the sign-in page.

- In the browser, enter your CCRI email address, click Next, and complete sign-in with your CCRI password (approve multi-factor authentication).

- After signing in, you will see a Success! page. When the browser asks “Open Cloudflare One Client?”, click Open Cloudflare One Client.

- The client now shows Connected — Your Internet is protected. You are on the VPN. To disconnect later, open the client and click Disconnect.

Verifying Your Connection
- The client home screen reads Connected with the message Your Internet is protected and a Disconnect button.
- The Mode setting stays on Traffic and DNS.
