Connecting Chromebooks to CCRI WiFi

Description: How to connect Chromebooks to the wireless network at CCRI. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: Android devices and Chromebooks can be tricky when connecting to the wireless CCRI network. If you run into any troubles connecting your devices, please contact the IT Help Desk at (401) 825-1112. 

How-to Steps:

  1. Click on the WiFi connection icon in the bottom right of the Chromebook screen as shown below. This may vary depending on which Chromebook device you are using.  
  2. In the list of available networks, select "CCRI_Community".
  3. A settings pop-up will appear. Match the settings pop-up window to the image below.
    1. Under “EAP Method” select “PEAP
    2. Under “EAP Phase 2 Authentication” select “MSCHAPv2
    3. Under “Server CA Certificate” select “Do Not Check
    4. Under “Identity” input your CCRI username
    5. Under “Password” input your CCRI password
    6. Leave the “Anonymous Identity” section blank
    7. Finally click “Connect

Note: If you see a network setting titled “Domain Suffix Match”, enter “campus.ccri.edu

Once these steps are completed, the Chromebook device should now be connected to the Wi-Fi.
