Description: This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing, setting up, and connecting to FortiClient on a Windows computer to access CCRI systems.
To begin the installation process, open the Software Center by using the Windows search function located in the bottom left corner of your screen.
In the Software Center, locate and select the blue FortiClient application from the list of available apps.
Note: Your software center may have different apps listed compared to the screenshot.
Click the green "Install" button to initiate the installation process. The installation may take up to 5-10 minutes to complete. If you had a previous version of FortiClient already installed on the device, then you may need to restart your computer during the installation of the updated version.
When the installation is complete, the "Install" button will change to an "Uninstall" button. You may also receive a system notification like the one below:
Open FortiClient Console:
In the bottom right corner of your screen, click the system tray arrow to reveal hidden icons.
Click on the blue FortiClient logo, then select "Open FortiClient Console."
Acknowledge the message on the initial screen and click "I accept" to proceed with the setup.
"CCRI VPN" should autofill into the field. Click the "SAML Login" button.
Enter your CCRI username and password. If you are set up in the DUO system, authenticate with DUO.
After successful sign-in, the VPN should be connected and ready to be used for accessing CCRI systems.
Click on the blue FortiClient logo, and from the menu, select either "Connect to CCRI VPN" to connect or "Disconnect CCRI VPN" to disconnect.
FortiClient will notify you of each action, such as connecting or disconnecting.
