Microsoft Authenticator Install and Setup Guide

Description: This guide provides step-by-step instructions for setting up the Microsoft Authenticator app, which enhances the security of your CCRI account by adding two-factor authentication.

Initial Setup Steps:

  1. Sign In to Your Email:
  2. Begin Authenticator App Setup:
    • After signing in, you'll be prompted to start the Microsoft Authenticator app setup. Click “Next” to proceed.

  3. Download the Authenticator App:
    • On the “Keep your account secure” page, select “Download now” to download the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device, then click “Next”.

Authenticator App Configuration:

  1. Add Account in the App:
    • Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone and select “Add account”. Choose “work or school account”.

  2. Scan QR Code:
    • Select “Scan QR code” in the app and allow camera access. Back on the “Keep your account secure” page, click “Next” to display the QR code and scan it with your phone.

    • Back on the “Keep your account secure” page, click “Next” to display the QR code and scan it with your phone.

  3. Confirm the Setup:
    • Confirm the number displayed on the “Keep your account secure” screen by entering it into your phone and selecting “Yes”.

Secondary Recovery Setup:

  1. Enter Your Phone Number:
    • Enter your cell phone number for secondary recovery. Choose how you’d like to receive the code and click “Next”.

  2. Verify with the Received Code:
    • Enter the code received via call or text and select “Next”.
