How Students Can Email OneDrive Files or SharePoint Files to Instructor

Description: This article describes how students can email OneDrive and SharePoint files to their instructor. 

How-to Steps:

  1. Go to and log into your student email account
  2. Click on "New message" in the top left of the webpage
  3. Click on the attachments icon (paperclip)
  4. Click on "Browse cloud locations"
  5. Locate the file you are going to send to your professor and select it making sure a blue check mark is next to the file name, then hit "Next"
  6. A window will pop up asking how you want to attach the file. Click "Attach as a copy" as well as selecting the option highlighted in the picture below
  7. Once attached, fill out the rest of the email and send it

You should now have successfully shared a file with your professor from OneDrive or SharePoint

Additional Information:

  • This also applies for when instructors share files with students. Just change out student info with instructor info.
