WebEx Apps and Services Explained

WebEx is a versatile platform with many capabilities. Listed below is an description of WebEx's apps and services.

 

WebEx Teams

WebEx Teams brings together all your people and communication tools in one secure and easy-to-use application for your desktop, laptop, and/or smartphone. You can create and share content, instant message, and make audio-video calls to get work done with your colleagues and teams regardless of location.

  • Product Description: Present information, share applications, and collaborate on projects in a centralized space.
  • Usage Scenarios: Ad-Hoc Collaborative sessions, internal meetings, project coordination, demos, sales presentations
  • Number of Attendees: Up to 200

The WebEx Teams app can also be used to wirelessly share in-room content to a WebEx Room Kit. WebEx Teams attendees who do not have the app can participate through the default web browser on their computer. Attendees who join via their smartphone will need to download/install the WebEx Teams app.   

 

WebEx Meetings

WebEx Meetings is the traditional collaborative meeting solution designed to replicate a meeting room. It provides the ability to share applications or desktops and share video and voice for those attendees who have the capabilities to do so. Video conferencing systems can also connect to WebEx Meetings rooms.

  • Product Description: Stage large scale meetings and conferencing, Present information, share applications.
  • Usage Scenarios: Collaborative sessions, internal and external meetings, project coordination, demos, sales presentations
  • Number of Attendees: Up to 200

WebEx Meetings has dynamic controls and features that provides the host with greater flexibility to manage content and participant privileges. These same controls can be found in Events and Training. WebEx Meetings attendees can participate through the default web browser on their computer. Attendees who join via their smartphone will need to download/install the WebEx Meetings app.   

To schedule/host a WebEx Meeting, log in to ccri.webex.com with your CCRI credentials.  

 

WebEx Events

WebEx Events allows you to host large gatherings and conduct webinars, all-hands meetings, project kick-offs, or press events online so that you can share documents and applications. WebEx Events provides the same basic features as WebEx Meetings, but, it also offers extra options that you can activate before, during or after a session, all geared towards hosting large events.

  • Pre-Event: Program / Campaign Management, Enhanced Registration Management
  • During Event: Panelist Access with Special Privileges, Threaded Q&A, Polling
  • Post-Event: Post-event Surveys, Reports (Registration, Attendance, In-Event Activity)

WebEx Events is intended to primarily provide unidirectional (Presenter to participants) voice, video, and data presentation. Attendees in the webinars can interact with the presenter through the text chat or Q&A panel. To effectively use this meeting type, it is recommended to have a designated moderator or that the host has additional training specifically for using this meeting type.

  • Product Description: Stage large-scale online events.
  • Usage Scenarios: Webinars, events and conferences, product launches, employee communications
  • Number of Attendees: Up to 1,000

WebEx Events attendees can participate through the default web browser on their computer. Attendees who join via their smartphone will need to download/install the WebEx Meetings app.

WebEx Training

WebEx Training is designed for more advanced collaboration and functionality. Along with the ability to share applications or desktops and voice and video, it also provides the ability for participants to raise their hand to ask a question, participate in polls, and to break out into smaller groups. This meeting type requires the highest level of moderation on the host's part.

  • Product Description: Deliver highly interactive and effective online training and e-learning.
  • Usage Scenarios: Employee, partner, and customer training product rollouts; certification and IT training; distance learning
  • Number of Attendees: Up to 200

WebEx Training attendees can participate through the default web browser on their computer. Attendees who join via their smartphone will need to download/install the WebEx Meetings app.
