How to Reset Your Forgotten MyCCRI Password

Description: As opposed to the "Change Password" tool, the "Reset Forgotten Password" tool is for users who have completely forgot their password and for those who's accounts are not set to the default format password. Members of the CCRI community can reset a forgotten password online or in-person.

How-to Steps:

Reset Password with the Self Service Password Management Tool

CCRI has a tool that allows you reset your CCRI password on your own. To use this tool, you will need to be enrolled in RAVE with an active cell phone number and/or email address.

  1. Open the Self Service Password Management Tool and ensure that Reset Forgotten Password is selected in the sidebar.

  2. Enter your username in the box labeled Username and click Next

Note: if you don't know your username, click Find your username.
  3. If both your personal email and cell phone number are supplied in RAVE, you will have an option to choose your preferred reset method. Click here to update your contact info .
  4. Fill in only the MISSING numbers/letters which are replaced with an 'X' and click Send Reset Code.
  5. Refer to your email or cell phone for the verification code and type it into the field labeled Reset Code and click Next.
  6. At this time you will be prompted to enter a new password. Your new password must have at least 8 characters and consist of both upper case, lower case letters and numbers. To avoid being timed out, think of password before proceeding to this page.
  7. After successfully reseting your password, click Go to Secure Login to ensure that you can login to your MyCCRI account using your new password.

Reset Password In-Person

For security purposes, passwords cannot be reset over the phone. To reset your password, you will need to provide Proper Identification (valid photo ID). Acceptable identification include, driver’s license, student ID or state-issued ID.

Password Reset Policy

This policy protects students, faculty and staff from identity theft, fraud or privacy invasion. It exists, with the best of intentions, to help protect accounts and personal information associated with them. Soon, CCRI will be shifting to a mandatory password change policy determined by “best practices” of security departments across all of higher education. Password changes will be mandated and enforced on a regular basis to a particular level of secure access. Though this is a significant change to the way CCRI does business, it follows the path of all colleges and universities across the country.
